Members of a Lawrenceville Family Struck and Killed in Miami

The family of five was walking on a sidewalk after Miami Marlins game when a minivan hit and killed three of them.

A Florida vacation ended in tragedy for a family from Lawrenceville, Ga.

On Saturday, the family of five was leaving a Miami Marlins baseball game. According to the Miami Herald, the family was walking on the sidewalk when a minivan lost control, jumped the curb and crashed into them. 

Miami police identified the three family members killed as Esther V. Terrero de Diaz, 53, Franklin Abraham Diaz, 14, and Adriana Maria Diaz, 13. Ten year old Magdeline Esther Diaz is listed in critical condition. The fifth family member, a man in his 60s, was not harmed but hospitalized after he was overcome with grief from witnessing the accident.

The driver, Raul Herberto Ortega, 67 of Florida, also died in the accident. Investigators believe Ortega suffered a medical emergency before losing control of his car.
