LPD Investigating Suspicious Package, Shots Fired

The area near Springlake Drive in Lawrenceville, Ga. has been shut down while they investigate the situation.

Lawrenceville Police are on the scene investigating a suspicious package within the city limits.

At 1:38pm Wednesday, officers received a call of a shots fired at 320 Springlake Drive. When they arrived, they heard more gunshots and then found a suspicious package that may be an explosive device. 

Gwinnett County's Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team has been called to the home to help identify the package.

The area near the address has been blocked off for safety reasons. No word as to when the street will reopen.
