Lawrenceville Apartment Fire Causes Minor Damage, Displaces Family

A Lawrenceville apartment fire caused minor damage Sunday, but no one was injured in the blaze, officials said.

According to a press release, the fire took place at the 3400 Club Lakes Apartments on Sunday, June 30, inside a second-floor unit.

Although no one was injured, the fire displaced a family of two adults and two children. They declined Red Cross assistance, but did have another place to stay.

Firefighters were first dispatched to the apartment complex after a neighbor called 911, and reported smoke there. When they arrived, firefighters discovered a fire burning inside the wall above the clothes dryer.Β

"The fire appears to have started in the area of an electrical outlet and was spreading in the wall when firefighters extinguished it," officials said in a press release.

The blaze caused minor fire damage and some smoke damage inside the second-floor unit. There was slight smoke in an adjoining apartment.
