Homicide Reported at Lawrenceville Apartment Complex

Early Saturday morning, Gwinnett County Police received a call of gunshots at a Lawrenceville apartment complex. The caller said there was a man on the ground outside the 700 building of the Wesley Saint Claire Apartments on Sweetwater Road.

When officers arrived, they found a black male dead on the ground. Officers also found bullet holes in the door of an apartment in the 700 building. When they asked the man who lived in that unit, he told officers that he was the victim of a home invasion burglary. The resident claimed there was a second suspect but police were not able to track that person down.

The resident was taken to the Central Precinct for questioning. 

GCPD will continue to investigate.
