Gwinnett Woman Killed While Crossing I-85
A 39-year-old Buford woman was trying to cross the multi-lane highway when she was struck by a car.
A Gwinnett County woman was struck and killed in an early morning accident on I-85 Friday.
According to , 39-year-old Jade Christensen was attempting to cross the multi-lane highway just south of the Buford Dr. exit, which leads to the Mall of Georgia and . The accident happened just before 1am Friday.
The preliminary investigation shows Christensen had successfully crossed the northbound lanes and was attempting to cross the southbound side. That's when police say she was struck by a 2004 GMC Envoy. Christensen died at the scene from her injuries.

Investigators say Christensen was at fault for the accident and believe she was under the influence of alcohol.
