Gwinnett PD Seeks Info on Cruelty to Dog Found with Missing Ears, Burned Head

The dog was found on at a CVS drug store on Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn on March 6.

Gwinnett County Police are investigating an animal cruelty case associated with a dog that was found with its ears missing and burns to the top of its head.

The dog, described as a large mixed breed male around 7 years old, wandered into a CVS drug store on Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn on March 6, according to police. It was found by animal control near the pharmacy.

The dog is currently under veterinary care.

Investigators are looking for information on how the dog was injured.  Anyone with information should contact Animal Control Officer Joey Brooks at 770-339-3200.  To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 404-557-TIPS (8477) or visit www.crimestoppersatlanta.org. Crime Stoppers tipsters can receive up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment.

For the time being, this dog will only be available to rescue organizations.  Any organization that is interested can call 770-339-3200.  A forensic veterinarian will examine the dog tomorrow, at which point he will be available for rescue.
