Gwinnett Homicide Victim Identified in Police Report

Victim Donald Singer, 57, was found wrapped in a blanket in garage of his home. BOLO issued for 1988 Porsche 944 believed stolen from homicide scene.

An incident report released Friday (March 29) by Duluth Police confirmed the identity of a Duluth man whose body was found wrapped in a blanket in his garage.

He was identified as Donald Singer, 57, the sole resident of a home on Montheath Pass. Duluth Police responded Thursday (March 28) to a 911 call from Singer’s daughter Jessica Black of Lawrenceville, who found his body. The 911 call was received about 4 p.m.

Duluth Police Friday issued a BOLO for a 1988 Porsche 944 believed stolen from the homicide scene between March 24 and March 29. The car had a Georgia tag #ADK6725. Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call Detective Jimmy Purvis in the Duluth PD’s Criminal Investigations Unit at 770-476-4151.

Upon arriving at the scene, a police officer observed a “mound” covered with blankets with a ladder partially lying on top of it, according to the report. Singer’s body was under the blankets. His face was covered with blood.

The police report indicated that Singer was killed between 7 a.m. March 24 and 3 p.m. March 26. The exact cause of death has not yet been determined.

The police officer noticed a strong odor of bleach in the garage and a broken window pane on the rear door to the home.

A maroon Chevrolet Camaro parked in the driveway was identified by his daughter as belonging to Singer.

Police recovered a blue and white blanket and a multi-colored towel that covered Singer as evidence at the scene.
