GCPD on Scene of Bank Robbery at Wells Fargo in Lawrenceville

Police are still searching for the suspects who were last seen near Herrington Road and Cruse Road.

Gwinnett County Police are currently on the scene of a bank robbery in Lawrenceville, Ga. 

GCPD Cpl. Jake Smith said in a release that at around 9:30 Friday morning, two masked black males entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 3065 Lawrenceville Highway and held up the bank at gunpoint. One was armed with a shotgun and another with a handgun.

After the bank clerk handed over an unknown amount of cash, the two suspects drove off in a vehicle. 

Police tracked down the suspects in their vehicle and a short chase ensued. The two men then abandoned their car and ran into the woods near Herrington Road and Cruse Road.

Officers searched for the two suspects to no avail. Police were able to recover the weapons used in the robbery.
