Firefighters Rescue Man from Tree

A man was injured while working on a tree 50 feet off the ground at a property in Lawrenceville, Ga.

A man was stuck in a tree and needed the help of Gwinnett County Fire and Rescue to get down.

At about 9:15 Thursday morning, someone called 911 saying a worker had been hit by a branch while working on a tree 50 feet off the ground.

When crews arrived to the scene on the 1600 block of Park Hollow Lane, crews noticed the worker appeared to be somewhat disoriented. He was clinging on to the tree and secured by tree scaling equipment.

The location of the tree, in an unpaved area in the back of the property, made it impossible for the Ladder Truck to reach the man. The Gwinnett Fire Technical Rescue Team determined their best option was to have a rescue worker climb up the tree to help the man down.

It took firefighters nearly two hours to get the man down, but he was conscious and alert when he was rushed to the hospital.
