Ex-Boyfriend Arrested in Connection to Death of Jasmine Benjamin
Darien Joseph Meheux, 18, of Lawrenceville, has been charged in the murder of the Valdosta State student.
An arrest has been made in the murder case of 17 year old Jasmine Benjamin of Lawrenceville.
According to CBS Atlanta, Darien Joseph Meheux, 18, of Lawrenceville, turned himself in to the Schley County Sheriff's Office Thursday and was arrested. He was the boyfriend of Benjamin according to a private investigator hired by the girl's family.
Benjamin was a freshman at Valdosta State University and a graduate of Central Gwinnett High School. Her body was found in a study room in her dorm in November 2012. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations determined she had been strangled to death.

In July 2012, Meheux was arrested in connection to a string of crimes in a Lawrenceville neighborhood.
