According to the release from the fire department, the residents saw the fire in the back of the house and tried to get to the hallway and go out the front door, but the smoke was too thick. Β

The home was heavily damaged in the blaze. Officials say high winds helped the flames spread quickly through the home. Firefighters tried to enter the home initially, but were turned back due to the intensity of the fire.
