Burglars Take $4,500 in Cash and More From Home in Lawrenceville

The victim said he paid three young men from the area to help him move in the day before the burglary.

A man who had just moved into a home in the 1200 block of Spring Branch Court told police it was burglarized overnight in late September.

The homeowner told officers he left the house about 10 p.m. Sept. 29, and when he returned about 12 hours later he found the back door unsecured with two large flat screen televisions and a home stereo moved to the back door.

Missing items included a safe containing $4,500 in cash, passports, birth certificates, miscellaneous paperwork, jewelry, a Dell desk top, two HP laptops, one Toshiba laptop, two Blu-ray players and a stereo.

According to a Gwinnett County police report the door appeared to have been pried open. The victim told police he had just moved the items in the day before, and that he had paid three young men from the area whom he didn't know to help him move in.
