Arson Ruled in Monday Afternoon Fire in Lawrenceville

Investigators found evidence of fires set in multiple rooms.

Gwinnett County Fire Investigators said a Monday afternoon house fire near Lawrenceville was intentionally set.

The fire was reported by a neighbor after 2 p.m. on July 21 on East Village Way in Lawrenceville. The single-story house on a slab foundation sustained extensive damage and displaced a family of four (two adults, two children), which needed assistance from the American Red Cross. No one was home at the time of the blaze.

Firefighters brought the fire under control quickly, though not before the flames damaged the interior of the house.
