A Lawrenceville man and two juveniles told police they were robbed at Rhodes Jordan Park from a group they were going to purchase some phones from.

According to the Lawrenceville police report, the incident occurred Feb. 17. Earlier in the day, the three males, two 14-year-olds and a 29-year-old, ran into four men at a phone kiosk near the food court in the Mall of Georgia in Buford.

The four were disposing their old cell phones in a machine that would give them $6 per cell phone. The smaller group offered a deal to the four and said they would give them $10 per cell phone.

The foursome said they had more cell phones at home that they would like to trade in, so they called the three later and set up a time to meet that same day for the exchange.

They met at the entrance of Rhodes Jordan Park off East Crogan Street around 6:44 p.m. Arriving in a car driven by a white male, the suspects jumped out and pointed guns at the victims. They stole their iPhone 4, two Galaxy cell phones, $430 in cash and a car title.

The suspects left the park and the victims tried to follow them on the road. Their speeds approached 100 miles per hour, so the victims stopped following them and called police.
