2 Men Arrested After Allegedly Trying to Rob Cops

The detectives were working undercover on a sting when the suspects approached them.

Two alleged robbers apparently chose the wrong people to hold up.

On Wednesday, July 31, two people were reportedly trying to buy drugs at an apartment complex in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

That’s when two men, later identified as Calvin Clarke and Rhajeem Sneed, both of Lawrenceville, approached their would-be victims.

According to the report from the Gwinnett County Police Department, Clarke told the victims not to move as he pointed a pistol at them. Clarke then told the two to “hand over the keys and the money.” As the gun was fixed on the victims, Sneed immediately began taking items from them, according to the report.

However, what Clarke and Sneed did not know, was that their victims were actually undercover GCPD detectives. They were working on a sting when Clarke and Sneed allegedly tried to rob them.

The two suspects were arrested.

Clarke faces charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Sneed is charged with armed robbery and felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

Both are currently being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.
