Now That the Powerball Jackpot is Over $300 Million, Will You Buy a Ticket?

With nobody winning the Powerball Jackpot in almost two months, the drawing Wednesday to a single winner will be more than $300 million.

Traditionally, the higher the jackpot payout in a lottery, the more people are prepared to share in the pot. With nobody winning since June 23, the Powerball Jackpot drawing for Wednesay now sits at $305 million, according to the Powerball Lottery website. This has a cash option payout of $203.3 million, before taxes. The drawing will be on Wednesday, Aug. 15 and the cost of a ticket is $2.

Will you buy a ticket now that the payout is more than $300 million? With a cash payout to a single winner of $203.5 million, what would you do with the money if you had the lucky ticket?

Hmmm... I don't know. But last time the jackpot was this high, the first four numbers were off from my numbers by one on either side. Yes, I wanted to cry! :-(

I'm one of those quirky people who never buys a ticket unless it's so ridiculously high that my odds are greatly diminished anyway. I mean, seriously, why is it that I think a couple of million dollars isn't going to help me any, but a couple of hundred million will. My bills are really not that high.
