Mothers Day, Every Day

Bringing a child into the world and helping him or her grow up is the essence of motherhood. Though it comes as a challenge, it also brings the most happiness. As children all around the world acknowledge and appreciate their mothers, let us not forget the meaning of this beautiful day.  A mother is a friend and helper. She loves her children unconditionally. She takes care of them and provides for them. She guides them and protects them.  In Islam, a mother has been given a high status. In fact, the Holy Prophet of Islam has said, “Paradise lies under the feet of mothers.” Indeed, the importance of a mother is far more than anything.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where many people have lost their mothers. So, to all those blessed with a mother, let us not forget the importance and value of this beautiful occasion. We should cherish this day and be grateful to God. And let us never forget how fortunate we are. One day in a year isn’t even enough to thank God for the blessings of motherhood. Indeed, Mother’s Day should be every day.
