I received a phone call from my teenage niece telling me all the different things she had going on at school. She was recently nominated for an academic trip to New York costing $2500, she was in need of some new lacrosse gear costing around $200 and most of all she needed money for prom. She called saying that all these things were needed within weeks of each other. So being the beloved auntie that I am, I got to it and stumbled upon a program called Becca's Closet
Becca's Closet is a nonprofit organization that has provided free prom dresses to teen girls since 2004. Any teen girl, rich or poor, can shop for a free dress at Becca's Closet. There currently isn't one in Lawrenceville, but there is one in Suwanee, Lithonia and Kennesaw. At those locations are tons of dresses just waiting for the perfect teen girl to take them home. And the best part is that you will not have to come out of pocket or step outside of your budget for the most expensive item of prom.

So, you are probably wondering if this is legit or is there a catch. There is no catch and it is legit. I contacted Becca's Closet of Lithonia, made an appointment for my niece and she found a prom dress that next day. Her prom dress is absolutely gorgeous! The best part is that the money her parents would have spent on her dress was able to be put towards her New York trip.
Prom is a momentous occasion that your daughter will never forget! And it can also be a momentous occasion for your pocket book.
