Yes, it’s officially fall, especially when we bring out the pumpkins. Set the date for September 30th to catch the first opening day of Stone Mountain’s 9th Annual Pumpkin Festival, held from September 30th-October 30th.
Let’s take along family and friends and all get our share of the beautiful autumn weather while enjoying Stone Mountain’s colorful fall decorations and a list of festivities like the all new Pumpkin Palooza. This family game is designed to keep the family bursting with laughs as family members compete against each other.
The park will also feature a kids and family scavenger hunt with clues hidden amongst scarecrows and Stone Mountain attractions. And kids most definitely don’t want to be left out of the 4th Annual Great Pumpkin Puppet Parade with street dancing, and thrilling costumes--don’t forget to lug along a pumpkin for the parade to catch your share of the flying treats.
Kids and families are also encouraged to wear costumes. To make the festival even more worthwhile, there will be a children’s costume contest for those participating in the parade, storytelling of classic and contemporary, memorable autumn tales, a pie eating contest, and to top it all off , folks will get a chance to dress up their own scarecrow to embrace the spirit of autumn.
