4th of July Celebrations...What a Great Way to Escape!

This week, we escape into the "goings-on" for the 4th of July weekend, including music, plays, fireworks, parades, and more..

The City of Lawrenceville’s Free Concert on the Square: Prelude to the 4th of July -Sunday, July 3rd -  Sunday, July 3rd 's play “Beauty and the Beast” will begin at 7:30. Fireworks immediately following.

Star Spangled Snellville – Sunday, July 3rd Featuring live music on stage on the Town Green, an antique car show, food, games, great viewing of a 30-minute fireworks show presented from Snellville First Baptist

Lenox Square—July 4th Independence Day Celebration: one of the largest fireworks displays will be held. Festivities start at 1:00pm.

Centennial park—July 4th Celebration at Centennial Park: presents over 5 hours of free music and the best fireworks display in the Southeast. Gates open at 2:00 pm.with music artists von Grey, The Regulars Band, thekey, and Crystal Bowersox. Food and drinks will be available

Stone Mountain—July 4th Fantastic four Celebration: Laser show spectacular, Parade and Fireworks. Park opens at 10:00 am. Lasershow begins at 9:00. Proceeding afterwards will be the fireworks show.

Mall of Georgia--July 4th free concerts, fireworks and free movies, “The Woodys” and post screening “Little Fockers” for the family. All the fun begins at 2 p.m. in the Village Amphitheatre. Fireworks begin at dusk. Grilled hotdogs, hamburgers, beer, and other foods will be available for purchase.

Lake Lanier Islands Extravaganza—July 4th fireworks display.The park opens at 10 a.m. and the fireworks are scheduled for 9:40 p.m.  For more information, call Lake Lanier Islands at 770-932-7200, or visit their website

The City of Lilburn- free 4th of July concert. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. on the 4th with the band StratoGeezer opening and The Surge! headlining the show. Fireworks following.

4th Annual Chastain Park July 4th Parade: Designed to bring the community together. Children are encouraged to bike ride during the parade.

Red, White & Brew Georgia Aquarium—July 4th Red, White & Brew barbeque and beer tasting festival takes place atop the Aquarium’s parking deck, with views of the fireworks display at Centennial Olympic Park. Hamburgers, hot dogs and pork sliders will be available for purchase. Admission is $45. For more information, click here

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra-July 4th “Fourth of July All-American Celebration” filled with an eveing of patriotic songs and sing-a-longs with the U.S. Army Chorus. Followed by a fireworks display. Events starts at 8:00pm.

Peachtree Road Race—morning of July 4th Traditional racing event with over 55,000 participants.  Starts at Peachtree road and ends at Piedmont park.0020There is another traditional Atlanta Event taking place in the morning on the Fourth of July. It’s the Peachtree Road Race which now has over 55,000 participants and is the largest 10k in the country. There are many parties and festivities surrounding this world class event!
