  • Rita Lucille Henderson

Rita Lucille Henderson, age 83, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011.  She was born in Mobile, AL, on October 11, 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose Henderson. Rita attended Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic High School and graduated from Miss Josephine Allen. She was a founding member of the Crew of Don Q social club. Rita was always known for her creative talents and culinary skills. Rita moved to Atlanta and at the time of her death resided at in Lawrenceville, GA. While living at Ashton Hall Rita had many friends and met no strangers. She was well loved by the staff and many residents and family members. Rita is survived by her children; Brenda Frenchwood, Kim Harris (Arthur), Gia Dixon (Walter), grandchildren; Joseph Frenchwood, II (Shanice), Kwame Frenchwood (Roz), Nicole Frazier (Carlos), Geoffrey Pierce, Latasha Washington (Roderick), Arthur Harris, Jr., Lauren Dixon and Zachary Harris, 13 great grandchildren, sister-in-law; Mary Cassino and a devoted cousin; Lola B. Thomas, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
 
The service celebrating the life of Rita Lucille Henderson will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at with Father James Harrison, Pastor Roger Aikens, Minister Huey Blake and Pastor Christopher Aikens officiating. Interment will be held in Mobile, AL at Pinecrest Cemetery on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 2:00 PM.   • James E. Ivey - July 5th, 1926 - July 13th, 2011

James E. Ivey, age 85 of Lawrenceville, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Saturday July 16, 2011 in the Lawrenceville Chapel of . Susan Rumble will officiate. Burial at Gwinnett Memorial Park, Lawrenceville. Mr. Ivey was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lilburn and a former member & Deacon of Yellow River Baptist Church & Maranatha Baptist Church. Mr. Ivey worked for 22 years at Atlanta Metallic Casket Company and was a residential builder for 35 years in Gwinnett Co,. He assisted the Booster Club with the construction of the Stadium seating at Berkmar High School. Mr. Ivey is survived by his Wife of 64 years: Jewell Dean Ivey; Children: Danny & Debbie Ivey, Lilburn; Doyle Ivey, Lawrenceville; Ricky & Tammy Ivey, Fort Lauderdale; 10 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Lilburn Building Fund, 285 Main St., Lilburn, Ga. 30047. The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 8 PM, Friday July 15, 2011 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home.

  • Marie George LeJeune

Mrs. Marie-George Lejeune, age 58 of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011.  She was was born in Fort de France, Martinique (French West Indies), on March 30, 1953. She was the legitimate daughter of Georges Donardin and Romaine Donardin. She married the late Fritz Lejeune. She is survived by her two children Karine Akpadan-Danho and James Akpadan-Danho, of Atlanta, GA. Her sisters and brothers include: Josselin Donardin of Martinique, Maurice Donardin of Martinique, Evelyn Richer of Martinique, Yolene Vahala of Martinique, Lynn Donardin of Martinique, Christian Nonirit of Georgia, and the late Jean Marc Donardin, and Marie-Eugenie Cenille. She also leaves behind aunts and uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie-George lived in Philadelphia for 23 years before her recent move to Atlanta, Georgia. She worked as a Nursing Assistant for Sacred Heart Manor in Philadelphia and was admired by all. She was a devoted Christian woman, a loving and exemplary wife, and an exceptional mother. Marie-George had a great sense of humor; she enjoyed telling jokes and make others laugh. She took pleasure in preparing elaborate meals for her family and friends. She had the gift of giving, of listening; and many sought her for godly counsel. She was a strong woman of faith and prayer, and prayed incessantly. After 7 months of battling with cancer, she left to be with her Master. Although we feel that she left us too soon, we rejoice in knowing that she is at peace with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She will surely be missed but never forgotten. Her desire is for all her loved ones to make peace with Christ, so that they too can join her with Him at their appointed time. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
