Lawrenceville Man Wins $250K in Mega Millions Drawing

Matthew Salako matched the first five numbers in the Aug. 20th lottery drawing.

A Lawrenceville man won a quarter of a million dollars in a recent lottery drawing.

Matthew Salako, 68,matched the first five numbers in the August 20 Mega Millions drawing, winning him $250,000. Salako bought the lucky Quik Pik ticket at the Lilburn International Farmers Market, located at 4805 Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn. 

Salako is retired. He and his wife Taibat have three adult children and three grandchildren.

“We have a lot of plans,” said Salako in a release. “For now, we’re going to sit down. But my wife and I are going to do something.”

The winning numbers from the Aug. 20 Mega Millions drawing were: 13-28-35-38-41 and the Mega Ball was 33.
