Dillinger is a 6 month old female lab/pit mix. She is full of energy and has a great temperament. She is housetrained, spayed, very well mannered and a real sweetheart. Dillinger's Dad is a veteran, injured during his service to our nation. He found Dillinger 4 months ago on the street. She was starving, just a tiny puppy. He took her in, gave her a home, and fattened her up. Now this bighearted man has to have surgery in order to repair injuries that are threatening his being able to walk. The surgery will keep him in a wheelchair for 3 months, unable to care for his dog. He has asked that we find a home for little Dillinger. When we offered to find temporary placement for her, Dan's eyes filled up with tears and he said, "No, I want her to have better than what I can give her." We are hoping that we can find a home that will be everything Dan is hoping for, for little Dillinger. Dilli nger would do best to be in a home where someone can be home with her during the day as she has separation anxiety. That or she would do well to be with someone who can work with her on this issue through training and patience. Dillinger will make an excellent companion for someone.
