Lawrenceville's 'Quilts of Valor' Featured on NBC Nightly News

A quilt in an inspirational photo of a wounded soldier looked familiar to a Lawrenceville woman.

A photo of an injured soldier saluting from his hospital bed gained national attention. But it was the quilt covering Army Ranger Josh Hargis that caught Barbara Conner of Lawrenceville's eye.

She recognized the quilt as one crafted by her organization Quilts of Valor, an organization that makes quilts for military members and veterans. They have a chapter based in Lawrenceville.

NBC Nightly News featured Conner and her fellow crafters in a story Monday evening.

Theresa Pruitt explained to the NBC reporter why the group makes and distributes quilts to men and women across the globe.
