2012 MLK Parade in Lawrenceville

The United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County, Inc. is hosting the annual MLK parade in downtown Lawrenceville on Jan. 16. The parade will start at 10 a.m. at the Historic Courthouse and will end at Central Gwinnett High School.

This year's theme for the parade is "Unity in Diversity," one of Dr. King's visions of racial diversity, reconciliation and harmony.

"‘Unity in Diversity’, according to Wikipedia, is a slogan celebrating co-operation between different groups of people in a single society and socio-ecological philosophy that describes a sense of oneness despite physical or psychological barriers," wrote Marlene Taylor Crawford, President of the United Ebony Society.
