At 8 Years Old I Am Saving For College

Watch me on The Clark Howard Show and read what I learned about saving money!

I always wanted to be on TV! I was the first kid on the Clark Howard Show's "Money Segment." Being on TV was Greawsome! (Great-Awesome). BOOM!! I was in the spotlight. Like a movie star, the camera followed me around. A really cool CNN Camera Guy put a mic on my shirt and filmed me at school and home. I wasnt nervous at all. A girl from CNN asked me questions about my . I told her my allowance is four dollars a week. I asked Clark Howard: "How much of my allowance I should save each week and how much I should spend?" He told me to save two dollars for college and spend two for what I want.

When I was three years old, my parents taught me to save my money. I had an allowance of 25 cents a week. I had to keep my room clean in order to get my allowance. Even when I don't feel like cleaning my room, I still do it because I want my allowance. Now I am 8 years old and my allowance is four dollars a week. I have saved $571.50 toward my college education.

I had my friends over to watch me on the Clark Howard Show. OMG! It was so cool seeing myself on TV! It was one of the best days of my life! I made two dreams come true: Being on TV and saving money for college!
