Nearly 1000 celebrate back to school in Lawrenceville, GA

Lawrenceville, GA:  More than 1000 students of every age and their parents and teachers turned out for the annual Georgia Connections Academy Back to School Celebration at Rhodes Jordan Park, where talk of homework quickly turned to activities of games, popcorn-eating and face-painting. Georgia Connections Academy is the state's premiere completely online, K-12 public charter school and welcomed more than 3000 students for the 2013-2014 school year. Georgia Connections Academy is a free, public school, open to students from the entire state, because all classes are conducted over the computer. Nevertheless, parents, students and teachers regularly meet for events like this for some "real time" fun. For information about enrollment or virtual education in Georgia, call Laura Berry, School Outreach Coordinator, (678) 825-3258 or log on to http://www.connectionsacademy.com/georgia-school/events.aspx for the school’s online, information session Thursday, September 26 at 6:30 p.m
