Gwinnett Ballet Theatre presents "Giselle"

Gwinnett Ballet Theatre presents the well-loved, tragic, romantic story of Giselle. The two act ballet tells the story of a young peasant girl who is wooed by a nobleman in disguise. When his trickery is revealed, Giselle dies and becomes a Willis, a ghost whose mission it is to capture men walking by the cemetery and command them to dance to their deaths. A remorseful Albrecht, the young nobleman who truly loved Giselle, visits her grave at night and is captured by the Willis, led by their Queen Myrtha. Will Albrecht die or will Giselle's love from beyond the grave save him?

This romantic ballet dates from 1836 and has withstood the test of time-the story is universal. It is appropriate for the entire family.

"Giselle" will be performed in the Gwinnett Performing Arts Center. GBT's studios are located at 1800 Macleod Drive in Lawrenceville.
