What You Need to Know About Election Day in Lawrenceville

What's on the ballot? Who's running? Where should you go to vote?

Election Day is Tuesday, November 5. Here are some key things you need to know before heading to the polls:

What's on the ballot this year?
Residents in the City of Lawrenceville will vote for two seats on City Council. Lawrenceville, unincorporated Lawrenceville and the rest of Gwinnett County will vote on a 1% SPLOST.

Parts of Lawrenceville will also vote in a special election for State Representative in the 100th district. This seat was left vacant when Brian Thomas resigned to take a job in Maine in June. Former Atlanta Falcon Dewey McClain was the only candidate to qualify for the race and is running unopposed.

Who's running for office?
The candidates running for City Council Post 4, the seat currently held by P.K. Martin, are Rory JohnsonLarry TroutmanRenita Hamilton and Keith Roche. Bob Clark, representing Post 3, is running unopposed. Dewey McClain is running unopposed for the Assembly's 100th district.

Where do I go to vote?
If you live within the city limits, you may go to Lawrenceville City Hall at 70 S. Clayton Street to cast your ballot for City Council. Gwinnett County residents can find their polling place by visiting the state's "My Voter Page."

What time are the polls open?
Polling places throughout Gwinnett County and at Lawrenceville City Hall are open from 7am until 7pm.
