Yerkes Re-Accounts for Monkeys After One Goes Missing

All of the center's nearly 1,900 rhesus monkeys have been accounted for, except for the one which went missing in June.

Representatives from the Yerkes National Primate Research Center Field Station say they have recently completed a count of all the animals in the facility. All of the center's nearly 1,900 rhesus monkeys have been accounted for, except for .

Yerkes also says veterinarians are also reviewing transfer records to make sure the missing monkey was not transferred to the Yerkes Main Center. 

Officials at the research center says they continue to work with Emory’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee and other regulatory authorities as they review their search efforts and refine operating procedures.
