One of Nation's Top Hospitals Just 30 Miles up the Road

According to the study by Truven Health Analytics, Gainesville's Northeast Georgia Medical Center is tops in Georgia.

One of the nation's top 100 hospitals, according to Truven Health Analytics, is Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

The hospital, about 30 miles north of Lawrenceville, has been named one of the top large community hospitals among 3,000 facilities nationwide. It is the only hospital in Georgia to make the list.

According to the Truven study, findings are based on objective research and independent public data. Hospitals do not apply and winners do not pay to market the honor. Hospitals are evaluated on measures of overall organization performance, including patient care, operational efficiency and financial stability. The findings compare hospitals against similar facilities in terms of size and teaching status.
