Lawrenceville Business Forged Documents, Illegally Imported Items from China According to Feds

Apego Ltd once ran operations in Lawrenceville and Lilburn.

Big wigs at a paper supply company that once had offices in Lawrenceville and Lilburn are now facing federal charges. 

Apego Ltd.'s CFO Jennifer Chen and her ex-husband and CEO Chi Cheng were indicted on charges of conspiracy to import paper products from China and 12 counts of fraudulent importation according to a story in the Gwinnett Daily Post.

The company was based in Gwinnett while the illegal operations were going on in 2005 and 2006 and continued when they relocated to Texas in 2007.

According to the office of United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates, Apego and two Chinese companies also involved "launched a scheme to avoid anti-dumping duties by transshipping large shipments of paper from China through Taiwan to office supply chains and other large retailers in the United States."
