Happy Birthday Lawrenceville!
The City of Lawrenceville celebrates its 190th birthday today.
On December 15, 1821, the was founded -- three years to the day after Gwinnett County.
Lawrenceville was named after Captain James Lawrence. He was the naval commander during the War of 1812 who famously told his crew “Tell the men to fire faster and not to give up the ship; fight her till she sinks!"
