Gwinnett Med Buys Shopping Plaza

The Lawrenceville hospital will move some of its outpatient services across the street to where Hobby Lobby used to be.

making room for growth.

The Lawrenceville hospital recently purchased a plaza across the road from its main campus. They currently own 88,000 square feet in the Springfield Park Plaza on Pike Street. This is the plaza recently moved out of.

GMC plans to convert the 195,000 square foot addition into an outpatient campus. In an email to Patch, spokesperson Beth Okun said "the space can be used to house a number of departments but its yet to be determined at this time."

The hospital hopes the new building will free up space to expand their and other services.

I think the expansion is great. I am surprised that they bought that location and not the big shopping center on the corner of duluth hwy and l'ville suwanee. Any idea what is going on with that property since all the stores seem to be closing or closed.

Well, GMC already owned property in that plaza. I know Staples was supposed to be opening a new location but that was scrapped. No word why. Yeah, it's sad that all that's over there now is Starbuck's, Hooters and Firehouse Subs.
