The ambulance was christened in a ceremony outside the Women's Pavillion.

In celebration of the Women's Pavillion at 's 20th anniversary, the hospital dedicated a new, state-of-the-art NICU ambulance. The new vehicle will be used to transport pregnant women and newborn babies requiring critical care.Β

Since opening its doors in 1991, the Women's Pavillion has helped deliver over 97,000 babies. "As we celebrate, hospital leadership is looking ahead at how we can continually transform our women's services to meet the needs of today," said GMC's chief nursing officer Carol Danielson.

According to Leslie Leigh, MD, there were nearly 90 patients transported by ambulance to other facilities in 2010.
