Don't Forget to Spring Ahead!

Set the clocks one hour ahead tonight and check your smoke detector.

Most would agree that the weather in Lawrenceville today certainly felt like spring. Take that feeling one step further and spring ahead by setting your clocks ahead one hour forΒ Daylight Saving Time.

"The extra hour of daylight in the evening is said to give children more social time with friends and family and can even boost the tourism industry because it increases the amount of outdoor activities," according toΒ timeanddate.com.

Two states, Hawaii and Arizona, do not observe Daylight Saving Time,Β NASA reports.

Gwinnett County Fire Department also reminds residents to "Change your clock, Change your battery. " In your smoke alarms that is. They say a working smoke detector can save lives, as it did in Friday's fire on where three people safely escaped a blaze.
