Pollo Tropical Coming to Lawrenceville

The Miami based chain is opening its first store in Georgia on August 16th and offering free meals to first 100 customers.

Caribbean "quick-casual dining" chain Pollo Tropical will open its first restaurant in Georgia in one week. The grand opening for the store at 825 Duluth Highway in Lawrenceville is scheduled for Tuesday, August 16th at 10:30am.

Pollo Tropical will reward the first 100 customers in line with a certificate for a free Pollo Tropical Family Meal. These customers will also be entered to win free Pollo Tropical chicken for a year.

The opening of this restaurant also brings about 100 new jobs to Lawrenceville. The Georgia Department of Labor held a job fair last month to help the chain find cashiers, cooks, servers and more.

Pollo Tropical is a subsidiary of Carrols Restaurant Group, the largest franchisee of Burger King. Carrols announced plans earlier this year to spin-off its Hispanic Brand restaurant chains, Pollo Tropical and Taco Cabana, as a standalone company.
