How long have you been in business? We just opened in Lawrenceville in October of 2012!

What does your business do? We provide grooming for all breeds of dogs and cats holiday boarding, and small dog daycare (less than 25 lbs.)

How many employees do you have? Two

Why did you start your business? We saw that there was a definite need for our services in this area. We have a combined 30 years of grooming experience, and have always wanted to branch out on our own. With the re-branding of Sugarloaf Mills Mall and the holiday season upon us, there is a lack of pet grooming and daycare located conveniently to the mall. The time and location seemed perfectly aligned.

What’s your favorite part about your owning this business? The ability to help our community according to the needs communicated by our clients. Being able to identify and address a need ourselves to benefit pets and their owners has been very rewarding.

What makes your business different from others? We are community-minded, in that we want to build and keep lasting relationships here in Lawrenceville and help the community by being of service, as well as being in business for profit. Although we have only been open a short time, we are already working to help local rescue and charity organizations, such as Daffy’s Pet Soup Kitchen and Pug Rescue, to assist them in assist them in raising money and reaching their goals.

What’s your goal for your business? Short term and long term? Short term: We want to build clientele for Holiday grooming, Daycare, and Boarding. Long term: We want Swanky Paws to be an active member of the community, and a household name when people think of quality pet grooming and service to pets and owners in need.

Anything you would like to add? We strongly value the members of our community whose jobs require them to give of themselves. Because of this, Swanky Paws offers discounts to Police, Fire, Military, Teachers, and others who are in positions of service. We provide low-cost and free services to local pet rescues, pet shelters, and pet foster homes. We give discounts to Senior Citizens and students, because we recognize that we would not be where we are and we will not get where we are going without them!
