No Hairnets Used at a Chinese Restaurant: Restaurant Inspections Jan. 10

A Chinese and a Mexican restaurant in Lawrenceville, Ga. were inspected.

Violations: 2-2B, Violation of Code: [.03(5)(j)1&2 ] Two employee drink bottles (with twist off tops) stored on rear preparation table. Drinks were discarded. Employee drinks should be kept in disposable cups with straw/lid and be stored in a location as to prevent contamination to stored foods and/or preparation areas. Corrected On-Site. New Violation. 12B, Violation of Code: [.03(5)(i) ] Two employees involved in active food preparation were not wearing hair restraints (hair longer than 1/2") at the beginning of the inspection. Employees put on hats to restrain hair. Employees working with foods that have hair longer than 1/2" must wear some type of hair restraint (ball cap, hair net or long hair tied into ponytail). Corrected On-Site. New Violation. 14A, Violation of Code: [.04(4)(k) ] Bowl with no handle used as scoop in bulk flour and rice paddle stored on countertop. Bowl was removed and rice paddle was placed into rice warmer with handle above product line. Corrected On-Site. New Violation.
