Four Year Old Food Kept in Fridge: Restaurant Inspections November 7

Raspberry topping at a Lawrenceville Dairy Queen had the expiration date of April 27, 2009. Central Gwinnett High School was also inspected.

Plastic bag of ice cream mixture not date marked in walk-in cooler. Items were marked with the correct date that the mixture was made or opened. Potentially hazardous foods, held more than 24 hours, must be marked with the date that they were prepared (mixed or opened).  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation. 10D, Violation of Code: [.04(8)(b) ] Container of milk dated 11/3/13 was being stored in the walk-in cooler. Two containers of red raspberry topping with the date of 04/27/09 was being stored in the walk-in cooler. Today's date is 11/7/13. Expired foods were discarded. Please discard all expired food by the expiration date.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation. 13A, Violation of Code: [.10(2)(g) ] Inspection report not posted in public view within 15 feet of the primary entrance, 5-7 feet above the floor, and/or not readable from one foot. Inspection report was not posted in the facility. Could not visibly see the inspection report anywhere in the facility. New report from today's inspection was posted in the proper location. Always post the most current inspection report in public view within 15 feet of the primary entrance, 5-7 feet above the floor, and/or not readable from one foot.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation. 15A, Violation of Code: [.05(6)(a) ] Multiple spatula's were in disrepair (cracked, chipped, etc.); broken utensils were discarded; please keep all equipment and utensil in good repair.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation. 15A, Violation of Code: [.05(1)(a) ] Shelves in walk-in cooler are rusted. Please replace or sand and paint with washable paint the shelves so that they are no longer rusted. Must keep all equipment in good repair.  New Violation. 15A, Violation of Code: [.05(6)(a) ] Walk-in cooler is leaking water from the top section. Please repair cooler ASAP. This poses a risk for overhead contamination of food in the walk-in cooler. Must keep all equipment in good repair.  New Violation. 17D, Violation of Code: [.07(4)(b) ] Container of employee foods was being stored on top of honey graham crackers in the walk-in cooler. EMployee food was moved to bottom shelf of walk-in cooler. Employee foods must be stored seperately from facility food.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.

Must keep food contact surfaces clean to sight and touch. This is a repeat violation from inspection on 02/11/13.  Corrected On-Site.  Repeat Violation. 15A, Violation of Code: [.05(6)(a) ] Fry baskets in disrepair with broken wires. Please discard broken fry baskets. Must keep all food contact equipment in good repair. CFSM stated that basket will be discarded as soon as he can purchase a new one this week.  New Violation. 15A, Violation of Code: [.05(6)(a) ] Seaweed box in disrepair with rusted areas. Please purchase a new container to store the seaweed. CFSM stated that he will purchase a new box this week. Must keep all food contact surfaces in good repair and must be cleanable.  New Violation. 15A, Violation of Code: [.05(1)(a) ] New shelves installed in the ceiling for single-service item storage is made of raw wood. Please paint these shelves with washable paint so that it is smooth, non-absorbant, easily cleanable, washable. Food and nonfood contact surfaces must be properly designed and constructed so that they are cleanable.  New Violation.
