Former Atlanta Falcon Opens Sports and Nutrition Store

Former Atlanta Falcon Mike Pringle continues to make a name for himself in the sports world, but this time it’s for something a little different. 

In mid-December, he will launch the third Max Muscle Sports Nutrition franchise in the Atlanta area at the Avenue Webb Gin. 

“I was looking for a business that was more in tune with my background,” Pringle explained.  “As I was doing my due diligence, I came across this sports nutrition company.”

He found the concept interesting, since it combined his love of sports and nutrition with his entrepreneurial spirit.  He began to sample some of the supplements offered by Max Muscle, and found that they worked very well for him.

“I wanted to make sure that if I was going to market these products and sell them,” he said, “they needed to work for me as well.” 

According to Pringle, Max Muscle is not only focused on selling a product.  They focus on educating the person that is taking the supplement so they can get results.

“Everything is very individualized,” he said.  “We see what your goal is, your body type, activity level, height, weight, and age.”

He already has one client who has been happy with her purchases.  Makenya Artis has worked with Pringle for the past four months and has used Max Muscle products in her weight loss journey.

“At first it was a gradual change,” Artis said, noting that she obsessively weighed herself every day.  “I ended up losing ten pounds.”

She is a big fan of the strawberry shortcake protein shake, which she says tastes just like a real shake.  Artis was nervous about taking any type of supplement, saying that most caffeine made her jittery.  Pringle took that into account when suggesting a supplement that would work for her. 

Pringle, who retired from the Falcons in ’04, has lived in Gwinnett County for the past six years. 

“It’s positive to still deal with sports where I once played professional football,” he said of the location. 

Franchise developer Bill Warner says the company likes the Avenue Webb Gin location because it is in between Lawrenceville and Snellville. 

“Population and buying trends show that people in Lawrenceville are concerned with health and wellness,” Warner said.  “Our business serves that type of person.”

“It’s a great location, right next to Wild Wings,” Pringle said.  “It’s a really good location as far as foot traffic and a lot of people knowing where it is.  It’s easy to tell someone where it is located.” 

The grand opening will be in early January, but the store will be open for business beginning Dec. 12.  They will host a pre-opening party on Dec. 11 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for personal trainers.  There will be free samples and educational material.
