Best Wings Scores C on Re-Inspection

The Cruse Road restaurant scored a 39 on their first inspection. This time, they were one point away from another U. About eight roaches were found during the follow-up.

Earlier in the month, Lawrenceville Patch reported Best Wings at 2522 Cruse Road scored a 39 on their inspection conducted by Gwinnett County. Violations included no hand soap at an employee sink, workers not using gloves and food sitting out on a counter instead of in a cooler.

The score of 39 was the lowest Patch ever reported. This week, WSB-TV went to the restaurant and asked the owner about the violations.

Violations: 2-2D, Violation of Code: [.06(2)(o) ] Handsink had a bucket of sanitizer stored in it. Had manager move bucket to an approved location and out of the sink. Must keep handsink accessible at all times. Corrected On-Site. New Violation. 4-1A, Violation of Code: [.04(4)(c)1(i)-(iii),(v),(viii) ] Containers of cooked chicken stored directly on top of containers of raw chicken in chest cooler. Had manager rearrange so chicken was stored properly. Must keep food seperated and protected. Corrected On-Site. Repeat Violation. 6-1A, Violation of Code: [.04(6)(f) ] Noodles in glass door cooler next to chest cooler were above 41F. See temps above. - Had manager discard noodles. Did not know how long they had been out of temperature. Must cold hold foods at 41F. Corrected On-Site. Repeat Violation. 13A, Violation of Code: [.10(2)(g) ] Facility did not have most recent inspection report posted. Advised manager to post most recent report. Must alwasy post most recent inspection report. New Violation. 18, Violation of Code: [.07(2)(m) ] Back screen door is not sealed tight and would allow pests to enter the building. Must keep exterior door tight fitting and sealed to keep insects and other pests out of facility. Must repair door by required routine inspection - Approx 45-60 days. New Violation. 18, Violation of Code: [.07(5)(l) ] Approx. 8 roaches found in a container of alluminum foil. Discarded alluminum foil. Manager stated he had pest control out within past week or so. I did not see the invoice. Must control the insects from being in facility. I did not find evidence of roaches in other areas during inspection. New Violation.
