Male Mentoring Symposium - EMBODI Program

Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is sponsoring a Male Mentoring Symposium (EMBODI) on Saturday May 5, 2012 from 8 am - 2 pm.  The event will take place at Friendship Baptist Church located at 3375 Church Lane, Duluth, GA 30096. Refreshments will be served.

One of the Sorority’s national programs initiatives is the EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) Program.  It is designed to refocus the efforts of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. with the support and action of other major organizations, on the plight of African-American males.  Both informal and empirical data suggest that the vast majority of African-American males continues to be in crisis and are not reaching the fullest potential educationally, socially and emotionally.  EMBODI is designed to address these issues through dialogue, and recommendations for change and action.  Visit www.gwinnettdst.org to register for the event.
