Winn Holt Elementary Scores a B in Latest Inspection

Richards Middle and Jenkins Elementary were also checked out.

Violations: 2-1B, Violation of Code: [.03(5)(c) ] Kitchen employee failed to wash hands after retrieving a cloth from the floor. The employee then continued working with clean utensils and equipment. Employee must wash her hands prior to continuing to work with food, clean utensils/equipment, etc. All kitchen employees must know when to wash their hands (i.e. when hands have become contaminated). Review this with the staff and retrain as needed.  Corrected On-Site. New Violation. 12A, Violation of Code: [.04(4)(u) ] Croutons and bacon bits are on display for self-service without adequate protection from contamination: they have been placed inside two containers with spoons provided for the customers to use. The containers are inside one of the ice chests used for cooling juice boxes and water bottles. Though the ice chest has a lid, it does not protect the food once the lid is opened. Place the croutons and bacon bits underneath the sneeze shield OR provide the food items in single-service containers with individual lids. All foods on display for self-service must be protected against contamination by the use of sneeze shields which intercept contaminants from the customers mouth/nose. If shields will not be used, individual containers must be provided for each food item.  New Violation. 14B, Violation of Code: [.05(10)(e) ] Clean, slotted ladles are stored in a bucket which has food particles inside of it. Remove the ladles from the bucket and clean all of the items. All clean wares must be stored in a clean, dry location.  New Violation. 15C, Violation of Code: [.05(7)(a)2,3 ] White cutting board still has black smudge present after it was just cleaning during the inspection. Rewash the cutting board. Nonfood contact surfaces of equipment must be kept free of accumulations of dust, dirt, food residue, or other debris.  New Violation. 15C, Violation of Code: [.05(7)(d) ] Dust is accumulated on the spring of the vegetable sink sprayer. Clean the dust from the spring. These surfaces must be cleaned with adequate frequency to prevent such accumulation.  New Violation.
