Where Were You 10 Years Ago?

Readers share their memories of 9/11.

On Sunday morning, on the tenth anniversary of 9/11, we asked this question: "Where were you 10 years ago?"

Here are some of the responses readers shared with us on our Facebook page

"I was at work, getting some training mods together...one of my trainees came up to me and said that a plane hit a ny building...time stood still as the horror of the day went on. I actually left work and went home. Was glued to the tv for hours. Worried about my father who works at Ga Tech...they were saying that they were a possible target... what a sad day." - Sara Hummel

"I was at home alone, and was heartbroken that people probably died when that "small plane" hit the first tower. When Rod Stadler broke into the music on Star 94 and said a second plane had hit the other tower, I knew it was a terrorist attack. I remember exactly where I was in my dining room when I realized terrorists were attacking America, and I remember how alone I felt." - Rebecca Redding Carlson

"I was in 5th grade and during the time the buildings were hit i was in the library with my class" - Lejla Šehić Kulovac

"I was there when:

The hijacked vociferated in midair
“America! We’re under attack
When two birds ambushed the big apple
and Perplexed Americans stood back
When we were Struck in her financial core
and our twins collapsed by fire
When America's children flew out of windows
Only to be devoured.
When fire enveloped the great city
and the Pentagon prayed for rain
I was there when divided Americans, united
saying, we want God in America again"
-From a song written by S Kaayla Ariel in remembrance of the tragic events
