Organizations from around Gwinnett pooled together to build a new playground for a domestic violence shelter in Lawrenceville, Ga.

In just one day, about 100 volunteers turned an empty lot into a child's wonderland.

Volunteers from around Gwinnett County teamed up to build a playground at the Partnership Against Domestic Violence's shelter in Lawrenceville, Ga. The groups who helped haul, hammer and hoist included Lilburn's Parkview High School's Beta Club, LexisNexis employees, KaBOOM! and Gwinnett Medical Center.

The playground was built to the specifications of the shelter's children. Their requests included a rock wall, a playhouse and a fence painted with flowers and more.
