Pick Parker

This Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier Mix is up for adoption in Lawrenceville, Ga.

Parker is a great little dog who needs a good home. We are calling him a Jack Russell/Rat Terrier based on his looks and personality, but we are guessing! We think he's about a two years old. He was found running alone in a local park, friendly and in need of a good meal. He must have been on his own for a while, as he was very thin, only about ten pounds. He is now safe in foster care, and eating like a (tiny) horse! After one week, he has already gained a pound or two.

On the day that Parker came home from the park with one of our members, she found him playing with a group of children. One young lady reported that Parker had just run an entire 5K with them! Then he walked another mile and a half back to the rescue car. And he wasn't even tired! Can you spell energy?

Parker's got it. When he knows it's time for a walk, he leaps about two feet straight up in the air. He just might be a good candidate for agility training, or a great running buddy. He is sweet and affectionate, and loves to run and play, but also likes to cuddle in your lap. He needs a home with a fenced yard and an active  person or family who can keep up with him. He really likes other dogs, and is fine with cats, too. He would get along great with older kids. He is crate trained and should be easy to housetrain, given a regular schedule of potty breaks. This young fellow will make a wonderful pet. If you would like to meet him, please let us know!

Due to his small size, he cannot go to a home with children under the age of 6.
