Historic Courthouse Hosts Veterans

Breakfast and war stories enthrall visitors.

The Gwinnett Historic Courthouse on 185 E. Crogan Street in Lawrenceville hosted a continental breakfast and program for three days this March 12th, 19th and 26th for history buffs young and old. The program consisted of a slide show, film presentation, speeches by veterans of WW II, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm in Iraq and a tour of the Veteran’s Museum located on the main floor of the Courthouse.

There is nothing more interesting than a story told by a soldier, sailor or airman of an actual experience during their term of service to our country. There are no words that can adequately describe the feelings these men and women had while on the ground, in the air or on the water in and around a conflict zone.

We are eternally grateful to these brave heros, both men and women who unselfishly gave their time and talents with the singular goal of preserving our liberty and safety here at home. Many returned with broken bodies and some in body bags, but their spirit remains as a monument to the freedoms we so often take for granted.
