William Harley Logan Westmoreland, 16, son of John and Reniece Westmoreland, has earned the Rank of Eagle Scout. He was awarded his Eagle Scout Rank on December 21, 2013. He is a member of Troop 575 sponsored by McKendree Methodist Church. For his Eagle; Logan designed and supervised the building of a 70 feet long boardwalk at the Mill Creek Nature Center in Buford, Georgia. This section completed an approximately 340 long boardwalk over wetlands. Troop 575 scouts, leaders, parents and other volunteers put in 386 hours constructing the boardwalk. The Mill Creek Nature Center is part of the Georgia Wildlife Federation and is located across from the Mall of Georgia on Mall of Georgia Boulevard. Logan has earned 26 merit badges and has held numerous leadership positions within his troop; Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader and Quartermaster. Logan is also a member of the Order of the Arrow and serves as the Vice Chairman for Membership for Canantutlaga Chapter of Mowogo Lodge. He plays lacrosse for Mill Creek High School and also plays for the Georgia Blackhawks in the off season. Logan is currently a Freshman at Mill Creek High School.
