Gwinnett County's MLK Day Parade on Monday

The United Ebony Society is proud to present our 14th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade on Monday, January 20, 2014. Our theme, “Strengthening our Community, Nation and World” is a reminder to us all of the importance of knowledge, empowerment, and wellness. 

The kick off  will be held at the gazebo at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse located at 185 Crogan Street in Lawrenceville, GA at 10:00am.  

The parade concludes at Moore Middle School which is located at 1221 Lawrenceville Highway (HWY 29) at the intersection of Johnson Road. 

A free health fair will take place upon arrival to Moore Middle School. Attendees of the health fair will benefit from free preventative health screenings and educational opportunities. Free educational materials in the following areas will be provided such as heart disease,  stroke, blood pressure , breast cancer, domestic violence awareness, vision & dental screening, help for the homeless , sickle cell,  fire & safety , health & wellness, Affordable Healthcare Act resources, etc. 

These various resources will be available to help promote health awareness; increase your understanding of available resources in the community related to health wellness, and many more valuable services.

The United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County, Inc. is a registered nonprofit organization whose mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of all residents of Gwinnett County by strengthening and promoting community awareness and involvement. 

The United Ebony Society’s goal is to reach out to the community and make this an inclusive event which truly symbolizes the vision of Dr. King. We look forward to your presence as well as your participation. Please bring your signs/banners representing your organizations or groups.

The United Ebony Society is requesting participants to make arrangements regarding transportation because service will be limited. 

The two locations available for parking are at Central Gwinnett High School and Moore Middle School. Transportation service will be provided starting at 9:00am-10:00am from Central Gwinnett High School and Moore Middle School to the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse. Transportation service will be provided in the afternoon only from Moore Middle School to Central Gwinnett High School. Please plan accordingly due to the limited service.
